Deauville is also one of Europe's finest golf courses, a world famous American Film Festival and the celebrated "boards" running along the seafront. This is the town to discover, not to describe.
The champagne vineyards follow the Montagne de Reims, approach Chateau Thierry, run along the Cote des Blancs, cover the valleys of the Marne, the Vesle and the Ardre and then, in a odd way, reappear between Bar sur Seine and Bar sur Aube.
Reims: is the city of coronations since Bishop Remi Baptized Clovis, then King of the Franks, placed the French Monarchy, from its earliest days under the sign of divine will. Since that time, not fewer than 24 kings came to Reims to be crowned. Visit the interior of the 12th century Gothic Cathedral where the kings of France were crowned over a period of 600 years.
